Background

When CyberCube began preparing resources for its Canadian partners, the company faced a unique challenge: translating technical financial and cybersecurity content into Canadian French while preserving both linguistic nuance and data integrity.

Unlike standard documents, this project involved:

● JSON files containing keys, values, and tags,

 

● hardcoded text in Word files embedded in diagrams, and

 

● highly technical financial and cybersecurity terminology.

 

With 13,108 words to localise, CyberCube needed more than a translation supplier—it needed a partner who could handle technical formats, master specialised terminology, and deliver flawless, market-ready content.

The Challenges

1. Adapting Content for Canadian French

French for Canada isn’t just a direct translation of European French. CyberCube’s content required localisation that respected regional terminology, tone, and regulatory preferences, ensuring clarity for insurers and brokers across Canada.

 

2. Working with JSON Files

The JSON files weren’t forgiving. Each string had to be translated inside a structure of brackets and code-like syntax. One mistake could corrupt the file, making the data unusable.

 

3. Consistency Across Cybersecurity and Finance

This project blended two highly technical worlds—cybersecurity and financial risk. Both required precise terminology, and consistency was non-negotiable. Even a slight variation in key terms could create confusion in insurance models.

Some Word files contained images with embedded text. These sections had to be extracted, translated, and reinserted without altering the layout or design.
